By setting a record of Miami to New York non-stop in 54 hours 8 minutes averaging 19 knots Envoy Hull #1 the sistership of this very yacht made history. This was a first for a yacht of this size and marked the beginning for Bertram building large motor yachts.

Richard Bertram went on to having 13 of these Jack Hargrave design special yachts built at infamous Yokosuka-City Japan shipyard. The owner of this particular vessel # 9 of 13, has all of the original provenance substantiating the build including original drawings and the signatures of the engineers and craftsman who used their hands for this Flying Eagle.
