When you first approach the boat , because it was docked stern first, the first thing you notice is the tuna tower and downriggers and then you see the twin Suzuki 300 outboards mounted on the Whaler Drive. One of the benefits of the Whaler Drive is it leaves the transom intact. The result is the strength of the hull is increased. The full transom will also keep following seas out of the boat, and it will prevent shipping water aboard when rapidly reversing, as when backing down on a fish.
When you first step onto the aft deck you will notice there is plenty of room to comfortably hold 4-6 chairs. The transom has 2 battery compartments at the deck level and on the top it has 3 storage wells.
Under the aft deck are 2 fuel tanks. There are also rod holders under the gunwales on both sides of the deck.
When you enter the cockpit area you will notice storage compartments on either side in the hull as well as in the seating consoles for the captain and passenger. The captain and passenger seats both need reupholstering and the entire cockpit needs some tlc .
Forward of the cockpit is the v-berth cabin which also holds the galley area and head. The anchor locker is forward of the v-berth.Above the v-berth on either side there are more rod holders. There is a small round table that mounts in the v-berth for dining. The galley area is a small countertop with a sink and storage cabinets underneath. There are no other amenities in the galley. The head is directly opposite the galley and houses a toilet, sink with storage and mirror above it, and a hand held shower which drains through the head floor.
The cushions in the v-berth need to be recovered and this whole area needs some tlc and can be a very liveable area.
The tuna tower also has a full set of controls for operating the boat from there instead of the cockpit. There are also rocket launchers mounted on the tower above the cockpit.
The cockpit has a full set of isinglass so it can be fully open or fully enclosed when on the boat.
This boat was used primarily for fishing in the bay and also outside in the open ocean. It wasn't used for overnight trips, mainly just short runs.
All in all this boat is a good fishing boat. With some tlc and the addition of a few amenities in the galley, this boat would be very liveable for overnight trips.
Overall the boat is very solid and with some tlc and cosmetic upgrades throughout this could be a very nice fishing boat or just a boat for cruising around.
