It is amazing what a boat manufacturer can put into a 29 foot boat these days! The Signature 290 is a case in point. With extra freeboard, to provide standing headroom in the cabin, the Signature 290 has a sleeping capacity of six in a floor plan that few will find cramped. With a generous 10 foot wide beam, Chaparral designers used the space very well. The layout is similar to most boats in this class with a convertible dinette forward, U-shaped cabin dinette and a double berth in the aft cabin, which has a privacy curtain. Galley storage is excellent due to the storage locker in the galley floor, and the décor is a blend of Sovereign cherry cabinets, designer fabrics, and vinyl wall coverings. The cockpit has wrap around seating aft, built in entertainment center, and a spacious storage locker under the port side passenger seat. Additional features include a transom storage locker, walk through windshield, extended swim platform, and a forward leaning radar arch.

You enter the aft deck by way of the activity platform and the port side transom door. Built into the transom is a large storage locker. As you enter the aft deck and aft is a fold away seat, cockpit adjustable table and a forward double settee facing aft. These three components will convert the aft deck into a lounge or space for additional guest sleeping. To port is access into an additional electrical panel and with battery switches and a wet bar with molded sink, storage and a built in cooler area. Forward and to starboard is the double helm seat which features bolster seating. The helm is nicely arranged with large gauges and excellent visibility. The windshield has a center opening that allows easy access onto the foredeck. The foredeck features a sun lounger and the side decks make maneuvering a breeze. In the helm area and to port is a sliding door with access into the main cabin spaces. The sliding door features a sliding smaller door revealing a screened port. Down a few steps and aft is the double berth with a privacy curtain, cedar lined hanging locker and storage areas. Further forward and to starboard is access into the single head compartment with mirrored vanity, molded sink, Vacu-Flush head with folding seat cover and a hand held shower. The head door opens to reveal a full length dressing mirror. Along the port side of the main cabin is the electrical panel, AC control, entertainment system and a “U” shaped dinette that can be converted to an additional berth. Along the outside bulkhead of the dinette is ample storage and under the dinette seating is additional storage. Along the starboard side of the main cabin is the galley area with excellent countertop space, storage space, stainless steel sink, and a storage area in the galley sole. All the way forward is the large “U” shaped seating area and a beautiful cherry table. The table is adjustable and will fold down making a large forward berth. A privacy curtain will separate the main cabin from the forward area.

The cockpit and helm areas can be enclosed with a complete camper canvas system or left open with only the bimini top. The bimini can be folded down and the radar arch leans forward giving the 290 a sleeker European look.

This 290 will please any discriminating buyer.

Situated along the starboard side of the main cabin with a complete galley set up surely to please even the most discriminating onboard chef.
