Boat Description

The Hunter 40.5 was conceived as a comfortable cruiser. Warren Luhrs and the design team took special care to blended comfort, performance and short handed sailing capabilities all in one package. Her powerful rig, swept back spreaders and large mainsail enhance her performance, while the bulb wing keel keeps her stable and shallow in draft.

The wide open cockpit, complete with folding table keeps you in comfort on and below deck. You wont be disappointed with the bright interior and perfect layout. The l-shaped galley is truly workable including a dual opening refrigerator and freezer, stove with oven and a dish rack.

Accommodations are sumptuous and can handle a crew of six - eight comfortably.

Additional Information

Purchased new in Michigan, kept at Detroit Yacht Club. Current owner purchased in December 2000 and sailed to current location at Wye Heritage Marina and is lightly used in southern Georgian Bay.

The engine has been serviced meticulously with high quality oil/filter changes at layup, regular anti freeze flush and replace, transmission lube changes, and Racor filter replacements. A fuel polishing system is installed along with an additional fuel shutoff valve.

The boat was built with 4 freshwater tanks and 1 holding tank. Installed a 40 gallon holding tank to serve the forward head that is plumbed to the main 40 gallon holding tank and can be pumped out singularly or in tandem.

Equipped with two 200 amp AGM house batteries with two smaller AGM batteries in reserve and a gel starting battery. Charged by a 65 and 1000 amp engine charger. Also has a XANTREX monitor.

Cockpit can be fully enclosed and is fully waterproofed with a second bimini that is affixed to the original. Topsides have been polished yearly and retain their original luster. Copper based bottom paint has kept it relatively free of fouling and there is no evidence of blisters.

There are nine opening hatches, eight opening ports and 12 deadlights.

The engine has approximately 600+ hours with 4000 nm all in freshwater.
