1988 Corbin 39, designed by Robert Dufour and Marius Corbin, beautifully maintained cutter-rigged, fiberglass constructed and balsa-cored deck.

Introducing the 1988 Corbin 39, designed by Robert Dufour and Marius Corbin and built by Corbin Les Bateaux in Chateauguay, Quebec, Canada, remains a beloved vessel among sailing enthusiasts, recognized for its classic lines, reliable performance, and adaptability for bluewater cruising. Often praised for its durability and capability to handle challenging conditions, the Corbin 39 is a popular choice among long-distance cruisers and liveaboards due to its spacious interior and strong build.

With a length overall of 41.5 feet and a waterline length of 32 feet, the Corbin 39 boasts a beam of 12.17 feet and a draft of 5.92 feet. Its displacement is approximately 22,000 pounds, with 8,500 pounds of ballast.

The hull is a solid fiberglass construction, complemented by a balsa-cored deck for enhanced strength and insulation. The full keel with a cutaway forefoot ensures stability and directional control, while the skeg-hung rudder offers durability and protection in heavy seas. The raised deck features a deep, well-protected cockpit, ideal for bluewater sailing.

The Corbin 39 is cutter-rigged, providing versatility and ease of sail handling. With a mast height of approximately 55 feet above the waterline, the sail area includes a mainsail of around 430 square feet, a genoa of about 550 square feet, and a staysail of approximately 200 square feet. This sail plan is designed for a variety of conditions, allowing for balanced sail options.

This Corbin 39 is equipped with a 2010 Yanmar 55hp diesel engine with just over 700 hours. Fuel is house by a stainless steel primary 100 gallon diesel tank and a 20 gallon auxiliary tank.

The interior layout of the Corbin 39 features a large private forward V-berth, a spacious salon with a table that lowers and converts into a bed, and a pilot house with a couch that also pulls out into a bed. It is designed to sleep 4-6 people comfortably.

The galley is well-equipped with surprisingly ample counter space, a stove, oven, refrigerator, a double sink, and plenty of storage space. The forward head is spacious and with a sink and counter space and mirrored cabinets for storage.

A dedicated navigation station provides space for electronics and navigation equipment. The vessel also boasts good ventilation with multiple hatches and portlights, sturdy handrails, high lifelines, and a robust hull design that contribute to its overall safety.

Known for its heavy displacement and strong construction, the Corbin 39 performs exceptionally well in offshore conditions. The deep cockpit and well-designed interior offer a comfortable liveaboard experience and make it a reliable choice for long-distance cruising.

The full keel and cutter rig provide a balanced sail plan and easy handling in various wind conditions. Overall, the 1988 Corbin 39 is a testament to robust craftsmanship and timeless design, making it a prized possession for sailors who seek both adventure and comfort on the high seas.
